Dr. Stephanie Teotia, a Board-Certified Plastic and Reconstruction Surgeon, is experienced and confident in providing both aesthetic and reconstructive surgeries. Dr. Teotia and her expertly trained staff focus on individualized and exceptional care for their patients. Frequently, patients are interested in a more youthful appearance without undergoing invasive procedures. Ultherapy in Dallas (and around the country) is gaining popularity because it is non-surgical and because it delivers real results.
There are a number of factors that can contribute to the loss of elasticity in the face, neck and décolletage region. Some of the major factors include:
- Environmental conditions
- Sun exposure
- Residing in an extremely cold or hot environment
- Smoking, drug use, excessive alcohol consumption
- Poor diet
- Stress/chronic unhappiness
- Use of harsh acne treatment(s)
- Being severely underweight
- Lifestyle choices
- Lack of physical exercise
- Regular use of and/or exposure to harsh chemicals
Although loss of elasticity is something that most people will one day experience, many are not yet (and may never be) prepared to go “under the knife.” Dr. Teotia and her staff are excited to offer these patients a non-invasive alternative to surgically lifting the skin (i.e. via browlift), through the use of Ultherapy. Ultherapy can be used to lift multiple areas of the face, neck, chin, jowls, and décolletage. This procedure works by stimulating the natural regenerative process over time, to lift the skin. Ultherapy utilizes FDA-cleared ultrasound technology, which allows physicians to identify and treat deep sub-dermal layers of the skin without making an incision or disrupting the skin’s surface.

An Ultherapy treatment lasts approximately 90 minutes. Immediately following your session, you will be able to resume normal activities. There are no extra precautions or protocols which need to be followed. The lifting process begins with only a single Ultherapy treatment; however, patients are advised that this is a gradual process, which will continue over the next two-to-three months. During that time period, elastin and stronger collagen will begin to generate. Up to six months after the initial treatment, patients can still experience further improvements, as the process of collagen-building continues. In addition to Ultherapy, Dr. Stephanie Teotia also offers other (often complementary) procedures which include browlifts, blepharoplasty, facelifts, and necklifts.
The browlift is more invasive than Ultherapy but can have dramatic results, both alone and when used in combination with Ultherapy. This procedure is optimal for those who have lost significant skin elasticity with age. Those who are candidates for this procedure also may have deep, horizontal lines on the forehead. A browlift reduces wrinkles and other lines that appear between the eyes, as well as the bridge of one’s nose. This procedure will make a person’s appearance more alert and youthful.
Blepharoplasty (upper/lower eyelid lift)
A Blepharoplasty is another procedure that can be used with Ultherapy. This procedure is designed to lift drooping eyelids, which will make you look younger and potentially even improve your visual field. In addition to these results, Blepharoplasty can remove bags and puffiness under the eyes. The process of upper eyelid surgery involves an incision being made by the surgeon in the areas of the natural eyelid folds. Once the incision is created, excess fat is removed and then repositioned. The next step involves removing loose muscle and skin.
When performing the lower eyelid portion of a Blepharoplasty, an incision is made in a discrete area near the lower lash lines and/or the smile creases directly beneath the eyes. As these areas are along natural folds in the skin, the incisions can be easily disguised. In this procedure, the muscle, excess fat, and skin are trimmed, and fine sutures close the incision.
Dr. Teotia’s facelift procedure involves more invasive steps than Ultherapy but can also be used in tandem with Ultherapy for optimal results. Dr. Teotia’s goal when performing a face lift is to make the face appear more youthful – giving patients a result that looks like a younger and more refreshed version of themselves.
A facelift can improve many of the facial aesthetics that have shifted, such as: middle of the face sagging, creases under the lower eyelid, and lines around the nose and corners of the mouth. Additionally, a facelift can improve the look of fallen or disappearing fat as well as loss of firmness in the lower face and neck (commonly known as “jowls”), as well as loose skin and extra fatty deposits that appear under the chin (commonly referred to as a “double chin.”)
Rhytidectomy (neck lift/lower facelift)
The neck lift (rhytidectomy) is a procedure that is targeted to improve signs of aging in the neck and jawline. A neck lift may be right for patients who have excess wrinkling in the jowl and neck areas. Loose skin in the neck area is often called a “turkey wattle” or “double chin.” A neck lift is a great solution for those who are not ready for a full face lift yet. Neck lifts can also be performed simultaneously with Ultherapy on the upper face for an optimal end result.
